Room 1 has been very busy getting ready for Spring by creating beautiful rainbows to decorate the notice board outside the classroom. We are currently working on Easter themed Art of bunnies, flowers, and Easter eggs. The students have enjoyed a variety of sensory play activities including: water with bubbles and animals, sand, smelling boxes, galaxy bottles with water and glitter, and edible moon sand. The theme this month is animals and the students enjoy reading a book we created about their favourite animals. The class is also working on the animal LAMH signs and animal sounds. The students of Room 1 have been enjoying the warmer weather going to the sensory garden and playground. The students worked hard decorating the classroom and notice board with Spring themed art of flowers, rabbits, and rainbows. In May the theme was transportation and the students made mini books about transport vehicles. The students continue to enjoy daily sensory time with bubbles, sensory bags, glitter bottles, slime, different textiles, and relaxation music. We began working on fine motor shoe box tasks recently and all of the students have made great progress in independence completing these tasks. It has been a successful school year and I have really enjoyed getting to know all of the students in Room 1. Whitney Tobin
